Gravity does the work. The brake decides the speed.
SafeSKYDROP™ is not a pulley. A sealed rotary mechanism inside the unit regulates the rate at which the steel wire pays out, holding descent between 0.8 and 1 m/s for any load in the rated range. There is no motor, no spring and no battery to fail.
Reach the descent point
The unit is mounted in its aluminium frame at the balcony, window or exit landing chosen during the survey.
Put on the harness
The harness is attached to the line by an EN 362 connector. No tools and no power are needed.
Step out and release
The sealed rotary brake takes the load immediately and regulates the speed. Nothing is held or operated during the descent.
Descend at a fixed rate
Descent stays between 0.8 and 1 m/s for any load between 30 and 100 kg, to the ground or to the rescue cushion.
The next person does not wait for the wire.
The system carries a harness at each end of the line. As one person descends, the second end returns to the mounting point, so evacuation continues without rewinding first. The wire is wound back manually onto the roller when the emergency is over.
