Safe SKYDROP TM
// FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Is SafeSKYDROP™ a pulley?

No. A pulley only redirects movement. SafeSKYDROP™ uses a precision-built internal rotary mechanism that actively regulates descent speed, holding it between 0.8 and 1 m/s.

Does it need electricity or a battery?

No. The device works without electricity or battery power, which is why it stays usable when the building supply fails.

What load range is certified?

30 to 100 kg. Both limits were tested and passed under EN 341:2011 by ANCCP Certification Agency, NB 0302.

How high can it be installed?

It is designed for emergency escape from heights up to 99 metres.

How is it fixed to the building?

In an aluminium frame on an RCC wall at the descent point. Anchor hardware was pull-out tested to 14 kN with no slip on M30 grade concrete.

Does it retract automatically after a descent?

No. The wire is wound back manually onto the roller. Avoiding motors and springs keeps the device reliable when it is needed.

Can two people evacuate one after another?

Yes. The system carries a harness at each end of the line, so as one person descends the other end returns to the top for the next user.

What maintenance is required?

The braking system is maintenance-free and needs no lubrication or oiling. An annual check is recommended, and shelf life is up to seven years under normal storage conditions.

Who manufactures and certifies it?

Manufactured by Fyrosafe Global Private Limited, India, and certified in Italy by ANCCP Certification Agency S.r.l., Notified Body 0302, under Regulation (EU) 2016/425.

What does it cost?

Pricing is quoted per building after a site survey, because height, structure and the number of descent points change the specification.
